MONOSPACE

SEARCH OPERATORS

Use the following search operators to search for specific messages or build custom views within Monospace. We're continuing to make these more robust by adding OR operators, quotations, and the ability to combine multiple operators into one view. Soon, we'll be rolling out a "search builder" that will build these operator strings for you in a convenient interface.

status

Options: sent, received, assigned, archived, replied

Example: status:replied,archived,sent

This example would display all messages in the inbox that have been replied to, archived manually, or sent from the compose modal.

network

Options: twitter, facebook, instagram

Example: network:facebook,twitter

This example would display all messages in the inbox that were received on Facebook and Twitter and ignore anything from Instagram.

kind

Options: tweet, dm, message, post, comment

Example: kind:dm,message

This example would display all messages in the inbox that were private messages (Direct Messages and Facebook Messages).

listener

Options: query

Example: listener:"social customer service"

This operator is for separating your listeners. Copy the listener string you have already set up and then save the view so you can view these separately in Messages. This will NOT create a new listener, rather only search for messages already within Monospace. Quotes currently work on this operator.

assignee

Options: me, name, email

Example: assignee:jason,adam

This example would display all messages assigned to users Jason and Adam. For users with the same name, try their last name or email they signed up with. Putting first name and last name in quotes (e.g. "John Smith") will work in the next update.

author

Options: me, name, email

Example: author:adam

This example would display all messages authored by Adam. You can add multiple names separated by commas.

tag

Options: query

Example: tag:shipping

This example would display all messages tagged with 'shipping'. To see specific messages with multiple tags on each message, use this example: tag:shipping tag:returns.

no

Options: assignee, tag, author, attachment

Example: no:assignee

This example would display all messages that haven't been assigned to anyone.

before

Options: date (yyyy-mm-dd format)

Example: before:2014-07-28

This example would display all messages received in Monospace before July 28th, 2014.

after

Options: date (yyyy-mm-dd format)

Example: after:2014-07-28

This example would display all messages received within Monospace after July 28th, 2014.

has

Option: attachment

Example: has:attachment

This example would display all messages that included attachments (images).

to

Options: name, username

Example: to:monospacehq

This example would display all messages that were sent to @monospacehq, whether we sent them or someone else included @monospacehq in the message.

from

Options: name, username

Example: from:monospacehq

This example would display all messages that were received @monospacehq.

connection

Options: name, username

Example: connection:monospacehq

This example would display all messages that were received via the @monospacehq connection. This is great for teams who are managing multiple brands and want to split the messages up by brand.

words

Options: <, <=, >, >=

Example: words:>1

This example would show all incoming messages that are longer than 1 word in length. This is great for weeding out the "first" and "@tags" particularly on Instagram.
